On August 23, Plácido Domingo makes his debut in Requena, Spain, taking the stage at the Teatro Principal for a gala marking the 20th anniversary of the Orquesta Filarmónica Fundación Ciudad de Requena and honoring the city’s designation as Ciudad Española del Vino 2026.

Plácido Domingo was honored with the “Legacy and New Generations” Solidarity Award at the 2026 Starlite Foundation Gala on August 9 at the Cantera de Nagüeles in Marbella, Spain, in recognition of his dedication to making music a legacy in the service of excellence, culture and new generations.

On August 8, Plácido Domingo returns to the Salzburg Festival as a special guest in a celebratory performance of Rossini's Il viaggio a Reims, honouring Cecilia Bartoli, Artistic Director of the Whitsun Festival, on the occasion of her 60th birthday.

Plácido Domingo has been honored with the inaugural Cavalleria Rusticana Prize, in recognition of his extraordinary career and his profound artistic connection with Mascagni’s masterpiece. The distinction was announced during the closing evening of the Festival Verghiano at Donnafugata Castle in Sicily.

After captivating audiences in Castellón de la Plana, Plácido Domingo travels to Jūrmala on July 29, to make his highly anticipated singing debut in Latvia, as special guest in Kristine Opolais Gala alongside Michael Fabiano.

After supporting the Spanish national team during their victorious World Cup campaign, Plácido Domingo returns to Spain to make his debut in Castellón de la Plana with a concert at the Real Club Náutico on July 26.
